I know it's been a long time!

Just about a month since my last post.....what can I say, just been busy.  Can't believe that it's only two more weeks until Christmas and of course we are behind.  Plan on doing most of our shopping tomorrow night after I'm done with REP.

Things will be a lot different this year for Christmas.  Both Grandparents have new homes.  Kelly's Grandmother moved out of her home way out in the country - I think she's been in that house for over 70 years.  She moved to an apartment in Sioux Falls that happens to be very close to my sister in law Becky.  Her kids love having GG that close.  So this year for Christmas we won't be at her house.  It will be interesting to have Christmas in our apartment.  Another thing is at my in-laws this year we won't be opening gifts on Christmas Eve - my other sister-in-law that has a new job down in Omaha so we will be having Christmas on Saturday.  So it will be strange this year.

Oh look at the time.....I will try to post more tomorrow.

Emily's Birthday Present

For Emily's birthday this year she asked for new bedding for her bed.  Since we split up the girls and gave them their own room this summer, Emily's bedding stayed with her sister Rachel.  So here are new pictures of her new bedding!!!  She has expensive taste, just like her mom, so needless to say this is also her Christmas present from her mom and dad as well as her birthday present.

She got new sheets, comforter, bed skirt and two pillows for her bed.  The she got a sheer which is in the color of part of her comforter, with beads over that and then new curtains.  The picture is hard to see it clearly since it was a sunny day.  Thank you to all that gave her the gift of money and the gift card to JCPenny's!!!  She truly loves her new stuff.

Another trip to the doctor

Had to go to the doctor again yesterday....my leg is infected.  Got antibiotics and cream to put on my leg.  It's the type of cream they give burn patients.  So I hope that works.

We got a nice loaner from the dealer.  It's a 2008 Dodge Caravan - dark blue.  It's nice and will do it's job.  Haven't heard much from the insurance company so I hope all is well. I faxed off the accident report.  I really hope they see that it wasn't my fault.

Still have to get pictures of Halloween up.

It's snowing!!!!

It is trying to snow here.....yuck!  Of course the girls love it and think it's cool but not mom!  It had been raining for the past couple of days and now it got cold enough for snow.  It's little and may not stay.  I just hope the weather holds out for us to drive to South Dakota tonight.  

I'm hoping to get pictures up of Halloween and Emily's bed room today.  For Emily's birthday she asked for gift cards to redo her room and this past weekend her and I went out and bought her new bedding and curtains for her room.  Since she has her own room now her old bedding stay with Rachel.  She picked out a very nice set and she absolutely loves it!  Can't wait to show it off!!!

I'm feeling better and still a little sore from yesterdays accident.  I will be heading to the doctor soon to be checked out but I don't think anything is seriously wrong.  My neck is a little funny but I can move it well.

I really hope I get to see all my family this weekend.  It's hard being so far way from our parents.  We love and miss them so much and wish we could be there to help.

It's just not my week

Oh what a week.  Started out bad and just never stopped.  First on Sunday I was taking a bath and decided to shave off about a three inch stripe of skin on my ankle!  Nice - I know I will have a wonderful scar from that.  Emily decided to get sick on Monday, which wasn't all that bad, just missed a day of work.  Today - the world thought I would get into a car accident.  I'M FINE - just shook up and a little bruised.

Here is one of the pictures of my van.  So I spend the morning on the phone with the insurance company, adjustor, body shop and clinic.  I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful boss that is so understanding and actually came to me and helped me get back to school.

The body shop called me late this afternoon and told me the Adjustor estimated $5300 in damage.  And he will be replacing my hood under warrenty because it is starting to rust!

Here is wonderful picture of my leg!  It's actually worse because it's all scabbing up and getting red.

But on a happy note - we are leaving for South Dakota tomorrow!  My in-laws are having there annual Hoe Down - it's a big huge square dancing weekend.  We are staying at the hotel and will get to swim all day on Saturday!!!!  I will be pictures posted next week.

Today is my girl friend Mara's birthday.  Hope she is having a great day.

My niece Ashley turns 18 on the 30th......wow she was just a baby yesterday.  Ash hope you had a great weekend.  I know most of the family was there for you confirmation and party.  Sorry we couldn't make it.  Remember you are always in our hearts and not far from our mind.

Birthday and Hallooween parties oh my!!!

Emily decided to have your kid party this past Saturday. I started out the day working at the liquor store until 2 and then came home to get ready for her party. I told her she could only invite 4 other girls which was very hard for her to decide. But she finally did decide. I also let Rachel invite over one friend so that way she wasn't in the older girls way. Our school (SJV) was having it's 8th annual Halloween dance that night so we took the girls over to that. It was so much fun helping the girls get all ready. Kelly had plans that night so he wasn't able to be around. So my girlfriend helped me through out the night. We got them ready and went to the dance. It was a lot of fun. I think all the kids had a great time. We left the dance around 9 and came home, had the girls all take showers to get all the makeup and color out of their hair and then played Wii on our huge TV.

Tonight it was pumpkin carving time! Will have to post pictures soon. Each girl drew a face that they wanted daddy to carve! it was very cute.

This week is a very busy week for me so may not get many posts up. I will be teaching faith formation for the 1st time to 6th graders....pray for me!!!! Then after that it's girl scouts. Wednesday and Thursday it's working at the liquor store and then Friday is Halloween!!!!

Closing Ceremonies

WOW...Did you watch NBC tonight? That was quite a show that China put on. Watching the flame going out. These Olympics were fun....we spent alot of family time together watching these games and talking about the sports and players. Can't wait for 2010 in Canada....do I hear Family reunion in Canada about that time???? tee hee. 2012 in London. Emily thinks that maybe she can become an Olympic Diver.....donations for training can be sent to.......TEE HEE. We will support her in anything that she does. Rachel hasn't stated yet what she wants...but I do know that God gave her talent in the music department. I love singing with her in church on Sundays. I think she will start piano lessons this fall. I think she will pick it up very well and fast. Of course it doesn't help that she wants to be just like her sissy!

Did the wonderful chore of school supply shopping today.....:( That was something. Wal-Mart was packed. The only thing we couldn't get was markers and notebooks. They were completely out. Guess that's what happens when you wait until the last minute.

OMG - 11 days before school starts

Can you believe it....school starts in 11 days?!?!?!?!?  I'm sure you thought I fell off the earth.  I have been very busy getting ready for the students to come back.  Can't believe what it all takes to get a school ready.

This past weekend we went to Yankton SD and stayed at my sister's house.  She has a wonderful home.  We had a retirement party for my dad, Larry, who is retiring at the end of this month!!!  Look out mom.....  :)

Ugh - MONDAY!

I have lots of pictures to get posted from this weekends family day at soccer!  We started off the day with Rachel getting her picture taken and then game following.  Her team won 3 to 1!! She played against one of her good friends.  Then it was time for Emily to get her picture taken and game.  Her team also won 3 - 1!!!!!  It was a great game.  Will try to get picture posted this week.

Last day of swimming lessons!

Today was the last day of swimming lessons for both the girls.  Both girls passed!!!  yah.  Emily is now in Level 6 and Rachel will be going on to Level 2A.  Both are very pleased with them selves.  Will try to get more pictures up this week.  Tonight is Emily's soccer game.  Last night was Rachel's and they won.  Rachel did awesome out there.  Still no goal but she helped Joe score a goal.  This Saturday is family day for soccer.  Both girls will have their pictures taken and have a game.  Wish them luck.

Last night was Rachel's soccer game - she did very well.  Their score was 3 - 3!  Tonight is Emily's soccer game - GO ORANGE THUNDER.
